DPhil Engineer in G-Research prize
Final year DPhil student 脕lvaro Arroyo (2021, Engineering) was named runner up in the
G-Research, a leading quantitative research and technology firm, facilitates a number of PhD prizes in Maths and Data Science with several academic institutions including the University of Oxford.
The prize is open to final or penultimate year PhD students at specific universities, working across areas including Machine Learning, Quantitative Finance and Mathematics.
脕lvaro completed his DPhil in Machine Learning at Oxford, carrying out research focused on developing methods to better leverage structured data, including time series and graph-structured information. Much of 脕lvaro鈥檚 recent work explores how ideas from graph learning can be ported into attention-based models, which underpin modern large language models. Since graduating, 脕lvaro has joined Tower Research Capital as a Quantitative Researcher.
