GeoPRISMS recognition
Univ DPhil student Will Hutchinson has been recognised by the GeoPRISMS AGU student awards.
Congratulations to Univ DPhil student聽Will Hutchinson聽(2011, Geology) who has been recognised by the GeoPRISMS AGU student awards for his presentation 鈥淚ntegrating remote sensing, field studies and CO2 surveys to unravel structural controls on fluid pathways at a young rift volcano鈥 (coauthored by David M. Pyle, Univ Fellow聽Professor , Juliet Biggs and Gezahegn Yirgu).
The judges commented: 鈥淓xcellent talk, relaxed but effective communication鈥澛犫淓xcellent presentation [鈥 William had engaging slides and expressed his results clearly and convincingly鈥 鈥淪peaker provided a good conceptual introduction and moved through all the results with good attention to detail鈥.聽
The GeoPRISMS Prize accepts international entries from any student who can establish a topical link between their research and a stated aim of a GeoPRISMS Programme Initiative. GeoPRISMS (Geodynamic聽Processes at聽Rifting and聽Subducting聽Margins) is a community effort that studies the origin and evolution of continental margins.
