Medical Research Council grant
Professor Nicola R Sibson, Supernumerary Fellow in Medicine and Professor of Imaging Neuroscience in the Department of Oncology, has recently been awarded a Developmental Pathway Funding Scheme grant of 拢3.5m by the Medical Research Council to take her work on 鈥淧ermeabilisation of brain metastases for early and more effective treatment鈥 towards clinical trial.
Nicola’s research looks at the inflammatory and metabolic microenvironment in brain metastasis, aiming to develop imaging biomarkers for tumour detection and monitoring. She is a Senior Group Leader for the Oxford Institute for Radiation Oncology.
is actively involved in teaching at the graduate level in Oxford. Within the Oxford Institute for Radiation Oncology, she was Director of Graduate Studies for eight years. She is also a Module Leader in Imaging Technologies for the MSc聽Radiation Biology聽course in the Department of Oncology and she gives lectures both on this course and also the University鈥檚 Experimental Therapeutics MSc听补苍诲听EPSRC and MRC CDT in Biomedical Imaging聽courses.
