Univ Treasure
Our treasure this month is a map of America, printed in Paris in 1669 and created by Nicholas Sanson (1600-1667) and his son Guillaume (1633-1703). The map is curious for two reasons: it represents the Americas as the lost kingdom of Atlantis and it represents California as an island. Explore it .

Foundation Fellowship
Phil Power (1962, PPE), Founder and Chairman of the Center for Michigan, has been elected a Foundation Fellow in recognition of his lifetime giving and philanthropy to the College. Find out .

Dr Maren Schentuleit, Lady Wallis Budge Fellow and Associate Professor of Egyptology and Coptic Studies, has been named the Director of the Griffith Institute for 2020/21. Read more .

Legal appointments
Sarah Haren (Law, 1994), Craig Hassall (Law, 1995) and Adam Kramer (Law, 1996) were all appointed Queen鈥檚 Counsel on 15 March 2021. David Scoffield QC (Law, 1995) was appointed as a High Court Judge in Northern Ireland in November 2020. Find out .

鈥 Revolution Rekindled by Professor Polly Jones, 鈥婼chrecker-Barbour Tutorial Fellow in Slavonic and East European Studies, was shortlisted for the AATSEEL 2020 book prize and has now received an Honourable Mention in the BASEES Women’s Forum Book Prize. Read more .
鈥 We were saddened to hear of the death on 8 March 2021 of the Very Revd Joel Pugh, Assistant Chaplain of Univ from 1962-6, and husband of Caroline, daughter of our former Master Lord Redcliffe-Maud.
