惭颈濒别蝉鈥 co-authored with Dan Marcus, Chief Executive Officer of trading platform ParFX, examines how advances in communication technology have altered the structure of foreign exchange markets. The chapter focuses specifically on the problems generated by these changes, including new opportunities to engage in market manipulation and incentives to invest in speed-reducing technology. It also reviews recent regulatory efforts to address these problems and concludes with a series of policy recommendations.
The volume is based on a collection of papers first presented at a conference organised by Professor Walter Mattli at St. John鈥檚 College, Oxford in April 2017. The diverse list of contributors include academics, stock exchanges, policy advocates and representatives of Canadian and Australian financial regulators.
